What do the most successful racers/riders have that their less successful counterparts do not? Well,
besides better fitness, they probably have more confidence. But, there is no need to dwell on what you
lack. Rather, focus on your legitimate accomplishments. Learn to recognize when you've ridden your
usual route faster than before, caught the chase group quicker, finished a difficult race feeling better
than you could feel, or woke-up the morning after a hard ride feeling strong. In other words, everyone
lacks something, so quit thinking about what you lack and focus on what you've already got! This type of
accomplishment recognition and positive thinking builds confidence in a racer/rider at any level.
